PVWMA board loses veteranStaff report, Santa Cruz Sentinel
WATSONVILLE - Mike Dobler has resigned from the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency board of directors.
The board will discuss appointing a replacement when it meets 7 p.m. Wednesday at the City Council Chamber, 275 Main St., fourth floor.
Dobler served on the board for the better part of a decade, and saw the agency through some of its "darkest times," said general manager Mary Bannister. She said he was one of directors who assumed direct supervision of the agency when a former general manager resigned in 2007. His tenure also included legal battles over an agency fee, and a successful vote to establish new groundwater pumping charges last year.
Dobler could not be reached to comment Friday.
Bannister said Dobler, a grower and father with a young family, could no longer make the time commitment he felt was required to represent his constituents.
